The Songs of Sirens

As we sail closer to the rocky island it seems as if the weather became more and more enthralling. the sun gleaming on the flat sea and a refreshing breeze pushing the beads of sweat down my neck. My body and mind fell into a world of paradise, yet there was one thing, one empty space. Then all of a sudden I heard it. The empty space filled instantly and I was in an ecstasy that was an overwhelming feeling of excellence running through my body and mind.

Far off I could see the most stunning women any mortal has layed their eyes on. THeir fair looks only made the music more irresistable. The high chords of their words made my back tingle, Each chorus seemed to drown out all fear and hopelessness from the world. I could think of nothing except the music in my ears and the urge ot get closer, as if it may allow me to soak up more of the sublime melodies.

Travels to Hades, And Dead Friends

After being sent to Hades to seek the true way of how to get back to Ithaca, the crew and myself sailed to the river Styx and followed it to the underworld. There was nothing pleasant about this desolate place. It was a toiling land writhered in fire, ash, and rock. I thought finding the way home would be hard enough, but being confronted by those who have long since been dead was the hardest.

I met my old friend Achilles, who had been struck down at Troy. I then encountered an old crewmate who had been killed at one of our many deadly pit stops. He pleaded for me to return and give his body a proper burial that a man deserves. The haredest soul in Hades to encounter was that of my own mother. I had still thought her to be back in Ithaca helping raise my son. Realizing that she had long since passed was an unbearable tradgedy to hold.

My Adventureous Tale With Polyphemus

I told my dear Phaeacians of my travels and adventures I've had on my journey home. I began my tale from the fall of Troy and how I helped destroy the city and bring down its mighty walls. The main story I told was our encounter with the mighty cyclops Polyphemus, and our great escape. Though we lost several men in the most brutal of ways; it is a story worthy of recognition.

We came to his land and went into his cave seeking hospitality, but instead we found that he was filled with malcontent and hunger for humans. He locked us into his cave with a massive stone. We sharpened an olive tree and drove it into his eye when he was sleeping. Blinded, we told him his sheep were escaping, so he opened the cave as we strapped ourself to the sheep's stomach and made it out undetected. As we began to sail away, I yelled out to Polyphemus, and told him my name, for I wanted him to remember who had defeated him forever.

I Woke Up, And There Were Naked People

As I arose from a deep slumper this morning, I saw that I was laying in a vast field of tall grass. I also realized that my body had somehow lost off of its clothes and I stood there, with the breeze chilling me to the bone. I heard, a ways off, a creek with the water running. And then a very peculiar sound came to my ears. I heard the voice of a woman; several actually. I moved towards the sound and realized that they were all bathing and oiling themselves in the creek. Embarassed, I looked away, and that is when Nausicaa noticed me.
Nausicaa was the daughter of the ruler of these lands, and she insisted upon helping me reach his great palace. She had her maids bathe and cloth me, and afterwords she let me to the edge of town and told me how I could reach the palace without being noticed, for the people didn't trust strangers. When I reached the palace, it was laden in gold, silver, bronze, had elegant orchards filled with fruit and vegetables.
The great king himself gave a feast in my honor and held a council of all his men to see how they might be of aid to me. He decided to give me a ship and provisions for my journey ahead.

Abba

the first thing i'd like to blog about is music. there are some forms of music that are good and some that should never reach the people of today's mainstream music society. i am talking about abba. i know how much of an amazing and mind boggling group they were back in the disco era, but c'mon people. lets get with it. the 'real' oldies are the stones, ac/dc, jimmy page with led zepplin...thats what i'm talkin about.
